MANAGEMENT
We would like to inform you that as of May 1,
2008, Kevin Garrett has taken over the
ownership of Westcoast Tennis Services (WCTS). All tennis
programming and services will continue as is and will in every
aspect remain business as usual.
Dan Mainzer, the founder of WCTS,
is retiring from teaching tennis and will be leaving this summer
to relocate to Costa Rica. Everyone
here at El Dorado Park Tennis Center and the entire staff of
WCTS wish him well with all of his future endeavors.
Kevin is eager and excited to
continue developing and expanding all that WCTS has to offer the
patrons of El Dorado Park Tennis Center and he is looking
forward to serving our local tennis community. Please feel free
to contact him with any questions, concerns or suggestions that
you may have.
TOP SPIN 7th ANNUAL SPRING
CLASSIC TENNIS TOURNAMENT
TOP SPIN ACADEMY would like to invite you to
participate in this SINGLES tennis tournament. Please come and
join the fun! The tournament will be held at Billie Jean King
Tennis center on MAY 23, 24, & 25. Players are guaranteed to
play two matches and trophies will be awarded to the winners.
The entry fee will be $35. For more information please call Mark

24th ANNUAL LONG BEACH JR.
SATELLITE
Registration has started for this junior
tournament. The tournament will run Monday - Friday, June 16-20,
2008. The registration deadline is Thursday, June 12 at 3:00 pm.

2008 SUMMER TENNIS CAMPS
The 2008 TENNIS SUMMER CAMPS are beginning to
take registrations. If you want your children to have some fun
while learning tennis this summer, then they need to be signed
up for one of our EXCELLENT tennis summer camps. We offer
morning camps from 9-12pm at BJK and El Dorado Park. We also
offer an afternoon camp from 1-3pm at BJK. For more info please
call either facility at your earliest convenience. Call

SHOES, THAT LEAVE BLACK MARKS ON THE COURTS, ARE NEVER
PERMITTED!!..............
PLEASE wear appropriate court shoes when playing
tennis at our facilities. If you like to wear black tennis shoes,
please make sure they are a suitable court shoes that have "NON-MARKING" stamped on the bottom of the
shoe. Skate or Fashion Brands like Sketchers, Vans, Etnies,
DCS, Circa, Adidas or Saucony Originals will
leave ugly marks on our new courts. Also, do not wear the popular brands cross-training shoes or running shoes, they are not
court shoes and will also leave marks, and do not offer
enough support for your ankles when playing tennis. Thank-you
very much!!
SATURDAY DROP-IN SOCIAL DOUBLES at BJK Tennis Center
Every other
Saturday throughout the summer and fall, Tennis Pro Aba
Villena is hosting Drop-In Social Doubles. Stop by BJK Tennis
Center and have some fun, meet new tennis friends and play some

TWILIGHT TENNIS

Halina Kucharski of Top Spin Academy;
www.topspinacademy.com, and Billie Jean King Tennis
Center have started a Twilight Tennis Program. On Saturday's from
4:00 - 6:30pm come on out and meet some new
tennis players and play as much tennis as you like. You can play
singles or doubles or mixed doubles. It is lots of fun and is
open to players of all ages and playing levels, from beginners

and then click on Class Listing to view the list of classes.
When
you decide, you can register by clicking on the Registration
Form, print out the form, fill it out, and then either
mail or fax it to BJK or simply drop it off at BJK or EL
DORADO PARK during your next visit.
So come on out, have some fun, get some
exercise and play a few sets of tennis, while experiencing
the pleasant atmosphere
at
our two beautiful park settings here in Long Beach. Remember
